About me / Professional approach
Psychologically trained, present, and respectful
About me
I am a trained psychologist from Aarhus University (2010), a licensed psychologist, and a Specialist in Psychotherapy with Adults. I have completed the theoretical component of the supervisor training programme as well as supervision of supervision.
I have many years of experience from psychiatric services, including the treatment of, among other, anxiety disorders, affective disorders, and PTSD, as well as the assessment of ADHD and autism spectrum conditions. I also have extensive experience with both individual and interdisciplinary supervision, most recently within specialised services for people with intellectual disabilities.
Clinical experience
Specialised work with ADHD, autism, and anxiety
I have more than ten years of experience working in psychiatric settings, including work in specialised ADHD teams and in the assessment of autism spectrum conditions, as well as several years of experience from an anxiety clinic.
This experience has given me a solid clinical perspective on complexity, including the significance of comorbidity and the need to assess symptoms within a broader psychological and psychiatric context. In therapy, this involves careful attention to differential diagnostic considerations and to how different conditions may overlap and influence one another.
The focus is not on diagnoses in themselves, but on creating a nuanced and professionally grounded understanding of the individual’s situation, providing a safe and well-qualified foundation for the therapeutic work.
Professional approach
A safe and confidential therapeutic space
I always strive to create a safe and confidential space for reflection, where you can explore what may feel complex, challenging, or vulnerable. I emphasise creating a space that feels safe, present, and conducive to growth, where we work together to find ways to understand and manage situations – with respect for your pace and your experiences.
My approach is based on psychological expertise and many years of practical experience. My methodological approach is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), combined with knowledge from neuropsychology and neuroeducation. Depending on your needs, elements from other theoretical approaches may also be incorporated.
I have specific experience with people experiencing stress-related reactions and adults diagnosed later in life with ADHD, and I always tailor my approach to the individual’s situation and needs. This may involve, for example, regaining clarity and calm, navigating daily life, understanding your own reactions, or developing sustainable strategies when working with others.
My goal is to help you strengthen your resources and capacity to act, while maintaining presence, engagement, and professional pride – without losing connection to your own values and boundaries. I often find that small reflections and awareness of one’s own reactions can make a big difference, both in everyday life and in professional work.
